About Hardeep Singh<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Hardeep graduated from the University of Auckland with Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce degrees in 2003. He has spent his legal career working in both private and public sector organisations in Auckland. He has long track record of success in various fields of law, and specializes in immigration matters.<\/p>

Hardeep has earned a reputation as one of the leading experts in the immigration field. He has assisted with hundreds of successful immigration matters ranging from visa applications right through to bring legal proceedings against government authorities through the courts.<\/p>

His most recent high profile case was a successful claim in the High Court against the Minister of Immigration for declining to grant residence to a the partner of a New Zealander and her disabled daughter. This matter is reported as Matua v Minister of Immigration<\/em><\/a>. The High Court cancelled the Ministers decision, and residence was subsequently granted.<\/p>

Other career highlights include the landmark case recognising an adoption from Pakistan through the New Zealand High Court. This was was the first time New Zealand Courts recognised a Pakistani adoption \u2013 a country with no formal adoption laws. This matter is reported as Sharif v Attorney General<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>

Hardeep has also appeared in the New Zealand Court of Appeal as Assistant Counsel in the matter of Parmanadan v Minister of Immigration<\/em>, which was the first major decision to look at new deportation laws after the Supreme Court decision of Ye v Minister of Immigration.<\/em><\/p>

Whilst he has represented clients at the highest levels, Hardeep spends the majority of this time bringing his expertise to dealing directly with Immigration New Zealand on his clients\u2019 visa applications.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
